Assessment Process
Assessment Process
1. Initial consultation
We begin with a consultation to understand your concerns, gather relevant background information and determine which assessment is most appropriate for your child.
2. Gathering information
Where helpful, we may seek information from your child’s school or other relevant professionals to gain a broader understanding of their strengths and needs.
3. Assessment sessions
Your child will complete the relevant assessment activities with the psychologist in a quiet, supportive environment. Cognitive and academic assessments are generally scheduled in two-hour morning sessions, with breaks as needed.
4. Results and report
We carefully score and interpret the assessment results before preparing a detailed report outlining the findings, strengths, areas of need and practical recommendations.
5. Feedback session
A feedback session is held approximately three weeks after the final assessment. We’ll talk you through the results and recommendations, answer your questions and discuss practical next steps for supporting your child.
